MAKE A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION
The best applications we receive come from people who've already been on our reformers.
Before you apply, come and take a few classes at the studio you'd like to teach at. Get a feel for how we teach, how our classes run and the culture our members love. Stay back for a chat afterwards and introduce yourself to the team — we genuinely love meeting people who are keen to join us.
It tells us far more than a résumé ever could, and it means you'll walk into your interview already knowing if Soul is the right fit for you.
TEACH WITH SOUL ATHLETIC
Soul Athletic is proudly the largest privately owned Pilates group in Melbourne. With six studios across Bayside Melbourne and our Tugun studio on the Gold Coast, we're passionate about building the very best team of Pilates instructors in the country.
We're always looking for experienced instructors who want to teach in a supportive, community-focused environment — and for new instructors who want to start their career properly, with a team behind them.
WHY WORK WITH SOUL ATHLETIC?
Established Pilates group with 10+ years' experience
Seven studios across Bayside Melbourne and the Gold Coast
250+ classes per week, so we can build a schedule that genuinely fits your life
A supportive, connected instructor community
Continuous in-house professional development — not once a year, but ongoing
Every member gets 30% off merchandise, plus access to our studios and saunas
OUR IN-HOUSE TRAINING PROGRAM — THE SOUL DIFFERENCE
This is what sets us apart, and we don't know of another Pilates group in Australia doing it the way we do.
Most studios hand you a timetable and hope for the best. We built an entire in-house training and upskilling team instead, because quality teaching is the thing we care about most.
Individual onboarding. Every new instructor is onboarded individually — there's no generic induction. We work to your experience, your confidence and your teaching style, and you don't take your first class until you're 150% ready. Quality matters more to us than filling a spot on the timetable.
Ongoing upskilling. Your training doesn't stop once you're on the floor. Our upskilling team runs regular sessions so you keep growing — new cueing, new programming, new ways to hold a room.
Team teaching. You'll teach alongside experienced instructors, not just watch from the back. It's the fastest way to build confidence and the most enjoyable way to learn.
Regular, genuine feedback. Our instructors receive consistent, constructive feedback from our training team. Not an annual review — a real conversation about your teaching, often.
A SUPPORTIVE INSTRUCTOR COMMUNITY
At Soul Athletic we believe great studios are built by great instructors. Our team works together to create a welcoming environment for our members while continuing to develop their own teaching — and their own practice.

WANT TO BECOME A PILATES INSTRUCTOR?
If you're not qualified yet but you know this is what you want to do — start with us.
Soul Athletic has partnered with Barre Body, one of Australia's most respected Pilates training providers. When you enrol in a Barre Body course using our link, you're not just signing up for a certification — you're stepping straight into the Soul Athletic training pathway.
If you're in Melbourne, we'll support you with:
Observation hours across our six Bayside studios
Your own practice in-studio, so you're learning in the environment you'll be teaching in
Team teaching where possible, alongside our experienced instructors
Access to our Melbourne-based upskilling and training team — the same team that supports our current instructors
If you're on the Gold Coast, our Tugun studio can offer you observation hours to complete your course requirements.
You do your course. We make sure you finish it ready to actually teach.

Most our instructors are engaged as independent contractors on a flat rate per class. This gives you flexibility with your work. You'll need your own ABN and your own insurance, and superannuation is paid by Soul Athletic. We'll walk you through all of it during onboarding — you don't need to have it sorted before you apply.Item description

Come and take a few classes at the studio you'd like to teach at, then send us your application. From there it's a chat with our team, a practical teach, and if it's a fit, we start your individual onboarding. We'll keep you posted at every stage.
-
It depends entirely on you. Our onboarding is individual to every new instructor — we work to your experience and your confidence, and you don't take your first class until you're completely ready. For some people that's a couple of weeks, for others it's longer. We don't rush it.

No, but we do strongly recommend taking a few classes first so you get a genuine feel for how we teach and the community our members love.Item description
